Your Go-To Resource To Become A Menace

Anyone can be a Menace

Introduction to Action Planning & Resources

First, it is important to remember that public action and protesting are essential tools used to advocate for social and political change; however, these activities carry inherent risks – including surveillance, legal consequences, and even physical harm. To ensure both individual and collective safety, it is important to adopt a proactive approach in regards to minimizing risks for our activism. Proper planning, legal awareness, and strategic coordination is useful in helping to mitigate the potential dangers associated in participating in advocacy efforts, while still maintaining their effectiveness. With this understanding and proper implementation of precautionary measures, we can work to create a safer environment for ourselves and our communities.

Every Action should be a SLAP Action!

Strategic: It is important to think about our target and the desired outcome. Can we achieve it, should we achieve it, what is the cost (time, people, $$$) to achieve it.

Lean: What is the minimum amount of resources (people, time, $$$, social capital, etc…) that we need to achieve it.

Agile: Make the action flexible in order to adapt to fluid situations. What can change, what can go wrong? How do we react if that happens?

Planned: We will not just rush in and throw bricks. We take the time to think about what we are doing and determine the most effective way to do it.

Any Menace can organize an Action. We don’t care about cis or trans, but that we move the ball forward on Trans-Visibility. Sometimes a CIS POV sees an opportunity that a TRANS POV misses.

We are all working together, CIS and TRANS, because being a TRANS Ally is viewed as a Transgressive act.
